Main course: Cannabis roast turkey
Ingredients:
- 1 turkey
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 head of garlic, peeled and crushed
- 2 onions, peeled and sliced into strips
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- Sliced bacon
- Stuffing
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup olive oil
- 1 cup pine nuts
- 5 tablespoons cannabutter
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 stalk celery, chopped
- 5 slices white bread, toasted and cut into small cubes
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme
- Ground meat
Instructions:
- Rinse the turkey and season it with salt and pepper inside and out. Cover it with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 24 to 48 hours.
- In a large skillet, heat some oil and sauté the onion until golden. Add the chicken broth and cook until it reduces. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, heat more oil and brown the ground meat. Add the pine nuts, the onion you cooked with the broth, the celery, the chopped walnuts (or almonds) and the bread cubes. Mix everything carefully and season with salt, pepper, more pine nuts and a splash of chicken broth.
- Preheat the oven to 175 °C (350 °F).
- Melt the cannabutter over low heat and add it to the mixture from step 3. Cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the thyme and cook 1 more minute.
- Take the turkey out of the fridge, set it breast side up, fill it with the stuffing from step 3 and rub cannabutter under the skin. Tie the legs together and tuck the wings behind the back. Cover the turkey with the bacon slices and season with salt and pepper.
- Roast for at least 4 hours. Thirty minutes before it's done, uncover the turkey so it browns, pulling off the bacon slices at that point.
This cannabis roast turkey is a showstopper that blends holiday tradition with a little green magic. Your family and friends will be blown away by this one-of-a-kind main course.
