The 5 Most Popular Weed Strains in Italy

Based on nearly 3 million visits we've had from Italy over the past two years, the five most popular weed strains there are Gorilla Glue #4, Super Lemon Haze, Amnesia Haze, White Widow and Critical Kush: a mix of heavy, relaxing indicas and zesty, energizing Haze sativas. Italy is one of the European countries where attitudes toward cannabis have been shifting, but its cannabis rules have changed more than once, so check the current law before assuming anything. Interest in the plant keeps growing all the same. Here's the top five:

1. Gorilla Glue #4 (GG4)

• Genetics: indica-dominant
• THC: 24-30%
• CBD: low

GG4, aka Gorilla Glue #4, tops the popularity list in Italy. This indica-dominant strain is famous for its punch, with THC levels up to 30%. It delivers a deeply relaxing high that melts stress and loosens up the body.

2. Super Lemon Haze

• Genetics: sativa-dominant (70%)
• THC: 19%
• CBD: 0.2%

Super Lemon Haze is a sativa-dominant strain known for its tart, lemony flavor and uplifting high. Its buds are great for outdoor activities and hit a lot like a strong cup of coffee.

3. Amnesia Haze

• Genetics: sativa-dominant (70%)
• THC: 22-24%
• CBD: low

Amnesia Haze is another sativa-dominant strain that's huge in Italy. With THC at 22-24%, it gives a creative, heady high and a range of flavors from sweet to citrusy and earthy.

4. White Widow

• Genetics: indica-dominant (60%)
• THC: 20-22%
• CBD: low

White Widow is an indica-dominant classic that has won Italians over. It brings a relaxed, social high, and its South Indian and Brazilian genes adapt well to the Italian climate.

5. Critical Kush

• Genetics: indica (90-100%)
• THC: 20-25%
• CBD: 1-2%

Critical Kush, with its heavy indica genetics, is often used by people looking for relief from pain and sleep problems. With THC at 20-25%, the high kicks in almost instantly.

These five strains reflect how popular cannabis has become in Italy. Each one offers something different, from a relaxing, therapeutic body high to a stimulating head rush. As always, consume responsibly, and only where cannabis is legal.
